  • A competitive examination for recruitment to the Indian Forest Service will be held by the Union Public Service Commission commencing on the 7th July, 2007 in accordance with the Rules published by the Ministry of Environment and Forests in the Gazette of India dated the 24th February, 2007.
  • Qualification: Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or and equivalent.
  • Number of attempts: The maximum number of attempts permissible to different categories of aspirants, who are otherwise eligible, will be as For General Category: 4 attempts, OBC- 7 attempts, SC/ST- No limit
