National Institute of Rock Mechanics (NIRM) is a premier research Institute dedicated to the development of rock engineering technology based on intense multi-disciplinary research. The Institute offers research and consultancy services to the mining, civil and excavation industries of the nation and abroad. The major areas of research include rock mechanics, mining methods and ground control, rock excavation, numerical modeling, surface mining, mine design, geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, engineering geophysics, mine electronic instrumentation, micro-seismic monitoring and environmental geotechnology.
NIRM is looking for SCIENTISTS in the Grade I, II & III and Administrative Staff on regular appointment/deputation as detailed below for its R&D activities. Candidates should possess good analytical skills and scientific temperament, and be willing to work anywhere within India or Outside on short/long term project assignments. Scales indicated hereunder are likely to be revised with the implementation of Sixth Central Pay Commission recommendations.
- SCIENTIST-I (22 Posts)
- Scale of Pay : Rs.8000-275-13500
- Qualifications : 1st Class BE in Mining/Civil/Geotechnical/Environmental Engineering or equivalent /1st Class M.Sc. in Geophysics/Geology/Applied Geology (or) 1st Class M.Tech./ME in the above discipline(s) including Rock Mechanics.
- Age : Up to 30 years as on 1st May 2008.
- SCIENTIST-II (4 Posts)
- Scale of Pay : Rs.10000-325-15200
- Qualifications : 1st Class BE in Mining/Civil/Geotechnical/Environmental Engineering or equivalent /1st Class M.Sc. in Geophysics/Geology/Applied Geology, with 5 years experience (or) 1st Class M.Tech./ME in the above discipline(s) including Rock Mechanics with 3 years experience
- Desirable : Ph.D in above discipline(s).
- Age : Up to 40 years as on 1st May 2008.
- SCIENTIST-III (3 Posts)
- Scale of Pay : Rs.12000-375-16500
- Qualifications : 1st Class BE in Mining/Civil/Geotechnical/Environmental Engineering or equivalent /1st Class M.Sc. in Geophysics/Geology/Applied Geology, with 10 years experience (or) 1st Class M.Tech./ME in the above discipline(s) including Rock Mechanics with 8 years experience
- Desirable :Ph.D in above discipline(s).
- Age : Up to 45 years as on 1st May 2008.
- FINANCE & ACCOUNTS OFFICER
- Scale of Pay : Rs. 8000-275-13500
- Qualifications : Must be a Graduate with ACA/ICWA/SAS qualification
- Experience : A minimum of 10 years experience out of which at least 2 years of work experience in finance and accounting in a responsible position in Govt. departments./ Organisation. The applicant should have experience to work in computerized environment and conversant in Tally software as well as should be well versed with Govt rules & regulations.
- Age : Up to 45 years as on 1st May 2008.
- PURCHASE & STORES OFFICER
- Scale of Pay : Rs. 8000-275-13500
- Essential Qualification & Experience : Must be a Graduate with a minimum of 10 years experience in Purchase/Stores
- Desirable Qualification & Experience : Diploma in Materials Management. The applicant should be fully conversant with the Govt of India Rules, Regulations and Procedures for purchase & stores.
- Age : Up to 45 years as on 1st May 2008.
- OFFICE ASSISTANT-I (HINDI)
- Scale of Pay : Rs. 4000-100-6000
- Qualifications : Must be a Graduate and should have a typing speed of 40 wpm (Hindi)
- Experience : Minimum 2 years of professional work experience in Hindi typing.
- Age : Up to 28 years as on 1st May 2008
- Last Date: 30 days from publication in Employment News (Expected to be published in dated 12.06.08 issues i.e. up to 12.07.08)
