The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) is a registered society as an autonomous Institute fully funded and administered by the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India.
Applications are invited from young talented qualified persons for the following posts at the Institute.
- Hindi Translator (1 post - unreserved)
- Age limit: 30 years or below as on 1.1.2007
- Scale of Pay : Rs.5500-175-9000 plus allowances admissible to Central Government employees stationed at Pune.
- Educational & Essential Qualification and Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in Hindi / Sanskrit with English as one of the subjects. Adequate experience in translating various scientific and administrative reports in Hindi . Should possess Knowledge of Akshar / Leap Office and MS Office software.
- Masters degree in Hindi/English with Hindi/English as one of the subject in graduate level
- Research Associate ( 5 posts) (4 posts for IITM Research Associate & 1 post for sponsored project)
- Age Limit 35 years or below as on 1.1.2007
- Stipend : Rs. 11000/- per month (fixed) plus admissible House Rent Allowance. Performance based enhancement in the stipend may be considered as per rules during the course of tenure.
- Necessary Qualifications:
- A doctorate degree of a recognized university in Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, Oceanography, Physics, Applied Physics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Geophysics with Meteorology as subject. Well acquainted with WINDOWS XP, LINUX, FORTRAN.
- Knowledge of statistical procedure to analyze huge data sets.
