Applications are invited only from the MALE (Male) candidates belonging to Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh (UT) Only, for the post of Constable (General Duty) in BSF on temporary basis likely to be made permanent, in the pay scale of Rs.3050-75-3950-80-4590 plus usual and admissible allowances to Central Govt. employees from time to time. In addition, ration allowance, medical assistance, free uniform, free accommodation, free leave pass etc. are admissible to BSF. The post has all India liability and selected candidate can be posted anywhere in India and even abroad. They will be governed under BSF Act and Rules as well as CCS Rules. Further, the selected candidates will be covered under the new CONTRIBUTORY PENSION scheme as applicable to all central Government employees recruited/appointed on or after 01 Jan’2004.

- Vacancies reserved for Border Districts Areas of PB i.e. District:- Amritsar, Gurdaspur & Ferozepur: Total 116 (UR-58/SC-34/ST-Nil/OBC-24)
- Haryana State: Total 72 (UR-39/SC-14/ST-Nil/OBC-19)
- Chandigarh (UT): Total 03 (UR-02/OBC-01)
- Age : Between 18 to 23 years as on 1ST August’2007. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates.
