Essential Qualifications for Faculty Positions:
  • A Medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part II of Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (persons possessing qualifications included in Part-II of the Third Schedule of the said Act, shall also fulfill the conditions specified in Sub-section (3) of the Section 13 of the Act, aforesaid). A postgraduate qualification e.g. M.D. or a recognized qualification equivalent there to.
Essential Experience for Faculty Positions:
  • Professor (Sr. Grade):
    • As Reader/ Associate Professor in the Deptt. for four years in a recognized medical college.
    • Desirable: Minimum of four research publications indexed in index Medicus/ national journal and one research publication in International Journal.
  • Professor (Jr. Grade):
    • The candidates should have teaching experience in the concerned specialty for 10 years in a recognized medical college.
  • Associate Professor:
    • As Assistant Professor/ Lecturer in the Deptt. for five years in a recognized medical college.
    • Desirable: Minimum of four Research publications indexed in index Medicus/ National Journals.
  • Assistant Professor:
    • Requisite recognized postgraduate qualification in the subject.
    • Three years teaching experience in the subject in a recognized medical college as Resident/ Registrar/ Demonstrator/ Tutor.
  • Pay Scale:
    • Professor (Sr. Grade): Rs. 18400-500-22400 (Total Emoluments Rs. 50714.00)
    • Professor (Jr. Grade): Rs. 16400-450-20000 (Total Emoluments Rs. 45474.00)
    • Associate Professor: Rs. 14300-400-18300 (Total Emoluments Rs. 39972.00)

  • Retirement age is 65 years. Age limit will be relaxed for retired personnel and suitable candidates.
