Applications are invited from male Indian candidates belonging to Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi states for the post of Constable (General Duty) in Border Security Force for the year 2007 on temporary basis likely to be permanent in the pay scale of Rs. 3050-75-3950-80- 4590/- plus usual and admissible allowances to Central Govt. Employees from time to time. In addition Ration allowances, Medical assistance, free uniform, free accommodation, free leave pass etc are admissible to BSF. The post has all India liability and selected candidates can be posted anywhere in India and even in abroad. They will be governed under BSF Act & Rules as well as CCS Rules.

  • Eligibility:

Central Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination 2007

The Union Public Service Commission UPSC will hold and examination on 7th october 2007 for recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in Central Police Force (CPF) viz. Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indoa-Tibetan Border Plice (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). The examination will be held at various cetnres across the country.

  • Assistant Commandants (Group 'A') : 341 Posts
  • Eligibility Conditions:
    • Age Limits: Candidates must have attained the age of 20 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years as on 1 August, 2007. The upper age limit is relaxable for Secheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/ Other Backward Classed and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice.
    • Educational Qualifications:
      • Degree of a recognized university or an equivalent qualification.
    • Sex: Both Male and Female candidates are eligible for appointment to CRPF and CISF. However only Male candidates are eligible for appointment to BSF, ITBP and SSB.
  • Application Form:
    • The candidates must apply in the Common Application form devised by the commission for its examinations which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/ Post Offices throughout the country against cash pyament of Rs. 20/-. Each such form can be used only once and only for one examination. In case of any difficulty in obtaining Application forms the designated HPOs/ POs, the candidates should immediately contact the concerned Post master or UPSCs "Forms Supply Monitoring Cell" over telephone no. 011-23389366/ fax 011-23387310
  • Examination Fee:
    • The examination fee will be Rs. 100/- to be paid through Central Recruitment Fee (CRF) Stamp only. SC/ST candidates are exempted form payment of Fees. (OBC candidates are required to pay full fees).

  • Growth and evolution of Neoproterozoic carbonate platforms in the Chattisgarh and Cuddapah basins, south India: Tectonic and palaeogeographic implications.: 01 Position (category 'A')
    • Qualification:
      • Essential: Master degree in geology or equivalent; at least 02 years research experience involving extensive filed work.
      • Desirable: Ph.D. in geology/ earth science.
  • Geomorphology and Sedimentology in a fore land basin setting: a study in parts of north-eastern Himalayan foothill regions.: 02 Positions (Two project related personnel of earth science and/ or engineering background) (category 'B')
    • Qualification:
      • Essential: Master degree in geology/ geography/ environmental science; OR BE/ B.Tech.
      • Desirable: Good knowledge in computer programming and experience in handling RS/ GIS data.
  • Thrust sequences, cross faults and fault zone rocks in the Eastern Himalaya. Patitioning of ductile displacements and brittle faults slips. : 01 Position (category 'C')
    • Qualification:
      • Essential: master degree in geology/ geophysics or equivalent.
      • Desirable: Experience in handling earth science application software/ programming.
  • Pay (for all positions): Rs. 10000/- to 12000/- (Consolidated) per month all above positions depending on qualification and experience. Higher pay (not exceeding Rs. 14000/- consolidated) may be considered for Ph.D. degree holder in category 'A'
  • Tenure of appointment: The duration of appointment is initially for a period of one year.
  • Age: not exceeding 35 years as on 1st April 2007. Relaxation as per gov. rules.
